This is Part Two of my review of the document NSSM-200. This document was prepared by war criminal Henry Kissinger for the President Nixon. The second section is called “Adequacy of World Food Supply”. This section has three paragraphs, at least that is what I am calling them.
Paragraphs 5, 6 and 7 are a description of future food production, logistics regarding getting food to poorer and overpopulated regions. The memo does concede that the growth of the production of food would outgrow that of the population. What the memo sees as the problem in the future is the logistics to getting food to the people who need it. In language that is meant to provoke worry, it talks about how 10 to 20 million people die each year of malnutrition and potential crop failures, leaving the reader to conclude that it will get far, far worse. The memo discusses that one solution would be to improve upon crop yields but with the possible dual problem of availability of water and fertilizer.
We live in a world of advanced technology. Our technology has probably advanced farther than Kissinger and the National Security Council (NSC) had thought it would. The technology now is at a point that it should not be such an issue for underdeveloped countries to be facing food shortages. And I’m not referring to genetically modified seeds. Even with non-genetically modified seeds there should not be a seed shortage which should lead to enough foodstuffs.
According to the website theworldcounts.com, approximately 28% of the world’s food is wasted each year. The site states a lot of the food that is thrown away is still edible. but supermarkets discard them anyway. According to the website rts.com, Americans waste between 30%-40% of the food supply each year and the reason why, the site asserts, is Americans don’t have an appreciation for food because it is relatively cheap. The site also states that food accounts for highest levels of landfill waste. I have had conversations with a farmer who stated that some food, like corn, rot in collection depots.
Some of the food problems in this world are caused by companies like Monsanto who breed genetically modified crops like corn. These GM crops are bred to produce larger yields per acre. However, they don’t produce seeds so the farmer would have to continue to buy seeds from Monsanto. Also, there are reports of these GM seeds fail as well. I understand that crops fail, droughts happen, etc., but there is a problem when companies are doing business to make people dependent on them for food so they can make a profit. It would be better to educate people on how to produce their own, dig wells and build irrigation systems so they can create their own food sustainability.
The question we should be asking is why are we still talking about the same conditions of the same developing Third World countries that they were talking about almost fifty years ago? Africa is still a mess. Central and South America take turns being in political turmoil (thanks to the meddling of the CIA). The Elites in the Bildeberg Group, Trilateral Commission, and other exclusively wealthy groups have not fixed anything. Let’s be honest, they have probably made it worse and that is really the plan.
