Washington State former Head Coach Rolovich Set a Great Example for His Players

The Head Coach of the Washington State University, Nick Rolovich, was fired by the school on Tuesday, October 19th. Rolovich, along with four assistant coaches, was fired for not being vaccinated. The school as well as the state of Washington mandated that state employees get vaccinated. Rolovich and the other coaches were state employees. The deadline was Monday, October 18th and the coaches were fired the next day for not complying. Coach Rolovich is currently bringing a lawsuit against the university.

Later that week, Ben Volin, who covers the New England Patriots for the Boston Globe, was on the afternoon radio show of Merloni and Fauria on WEEI in Boston. This topic came up in one of their segments, which is called “Big Deal or No Big Deal”. Volin said it was a big deal because Rolovich was being a bad example for his players by not getting vaccinated.

Before I respond to that let me provide some background on Ben Volin in relation to the vaccine. He is pro-vaccine. On a previous segment a week prior to this one, he was asked about the Southwest pilots’ protest of the vaccine mandate which caused hundreds of flight cancellations. In my summary of Volin’s opinion, Volin alleged that the pilots were stupid because they refused the vaccine. In a hypothetical situation presented by cohost Lou Merloni, the situation being would Volin be comfortable flying on a plane if he knew the pilot was not vaccinated. Merloni emphasized that Volin would have no contact with the pilot. Volin had a difficult time saying “yes” and when he did, he immediately said he would book his flights only with companies with vaccinated pilots. He has swallowed the vaccine Kool-aid provided by the Left and has gone for seconds.

Back to my main point.

Ben Volin is wrong. Rolovich was not being a bad example to his players and staff on the Washington State football team. He was being the best example possible. Coach Rolovich was showing his players to stand strong in your convictions. Do not capitulate, no matter what the cost might be. That is a best lesson these young men can be taught. It is better than winning games. Know what you believe and be willing to suffer any consequence for those beliefs.

In other words, be strong young men, strong in your convictions and be willing to fight, because this world needs more strong young men who have not capitulated to tyranny.
