The other day Boston.com posted an article in Facebook. The article was about a series of tweets from Dean of Public Health at Brown University. In the tweets the Dean cited a lot statistics relating to covid and the purpose of the tweets were to reassure that the vaccines are safe and work.
In the data he cited some statistics about people who are unvaccinated. He stated that 1 in 20 people who are unvaccinated and contract covid will be hospitalized. He then said that I in 200 of unvaccinated people will die. That translates to 5% of unvaccinated people are hospitalized and there is a 99.95% survival rate. I would say that those are excellent statistics for unvaccinated people and I say they actually debunk the necessity of a vaccine. But that’s just my opinion. The other question I posed was what the source was for his data he cited.
I commented as much on the article:

Now, I did not cite any data from anyone else. I only cited the data he provided. I did not question the credentials of the Dean at Brown. I only asked for the source of his data.
Then the pro-vaccine people came out.
They called me stupid. They said that the dean forgot more about virology than I would ever know. People wished I would get covid, be hospitalized and placed on a ventilator. I was accused of being a sheep of YouTube doctors and believer of conspiracy theories. Yet I didn’t cite any YouTube doctors or post their videos, and besides I rarely watch them so I don’t know what they are saying.
I can understand statistical data. I don’t need a PHD in virology or epidemiology to understand numbers and math (statistical data) regarding covid. This is how ridiculous this has become.
If I had posted an article or video from a learned doctor, one who has multiple PHDs in virology related degrees, who is questioning the necessity (not the efficacy) of a vaccine, a peer reviewed study, it would be shredded as being a conspiracy theory by a quack who isn’t qualified to speak about the covid virus. Facebook would fact check it saying it is missing context or it has been debunked or some other such nonsense because it doen’t fit their narrative.
5% hospitalization rate and a 99.95% survival rate of unvaccinated people are acceptable statistics. I question how people who have a vaccine that protect them from covid can get sick from someone who is unvaccinated if the vaccine works like a vaccine is supposed to work. I question how the unvaccinated are the problem when vaccinated are either getting sick from the spike protein from the shot or from other vaccinated people. It is insane how this logic works.
Consult your doctor, become informed so you can make an informed decision that is best for you. Above all, think critically about the information the main stream media, social media and the government is spewing forth, especially targets of their vitriolic attacks, like Nicki Manaj.
